elements.net.au, antiques, shop online
there is something about old glass…

Bonjour mon amis
I cant believe it is almost 3 weeks since our new website went live ~ if you haven’t had a chance to visit yet, take a look and tell us what you think, we would love your feedback ~ www.elements.net.au  –  we will be adding new stock almost daily over the next few weeks to get more of our antique pieces on line!
Now that my blog falls under the umbrella of the website, i am free to post about what we do and how it happens -so with our container just in from France i thought i would share some snaps taken on the road & a few in the workshop…
Lets start where our world begins. Markets. Antiques. Brocante.

Who doesn’t love to wander through a flea-market in France, you really do never know what you will find? These images should get you in the mood for our upcoming French shipment due in store in November – (very soon!)

Old paintings &  children’s furniture ~ always deligthful

I love the endless variety of things that can be found at the markets – its a way of life for so many people/traders in France and it is only natural that each one has their own particular niche…

A very original vanity ‘travelling’ kit circa 1900’s

For  some it might be a period that they collect in, others a style  – rustic or 20th C or it could just be the quirky way they put things together that you like or peut-etre pas?

Once the container arrives, packed  with all the finds of a buying trip there is a lot to do in the workshop to get  them ready for sale…some items need our cabinet makers attention, others just cleaning and waxing, lighting often needs restoration and re wiring along with iron frames to be mirrored and marble sourced & cut for console tables..

as it arrives, behind the scenes
