Antiques + Autumn

I wanted to share this interior space by Axel Vervoordt because I love his distinctly minimalist blend of antique and modern and there is rarely an image of his house or the interiors he designs with out a fire burning. He believes that “a fire, is a sign that the room’s occupant is settling in and plans to stay for a while”  ok winter here is your queue!19_3_p.158DICKY0261779With Autumn almost over it is hard to believe that the days are still so warm, beautiful as it has been, including those incredible pink skies it really is time for a change of seasons.
pink skies5 am is really not my favourite hour to set the alarm but a trip to the flower markets is always inspiring – just one fabulous branch, one particular kind of rose or something long lasting and structural can make a dramatic affect to the spaces within the warehouse (& on weekends I can take them home:)

The timeless appeal that utilitarian objects have despite their years.

We are slowly working our way through a collection of pieces that had been pushed to the back of the workshop, waiting for a rainy day; week or month to appear…like many other things in life you need to make it a priority otherwise it never happens!  All of these pieces are practical yet beautiful just how it should be when choosing something for your home.

Create some order in your entry hall with this great piece, an old English server that has had a few changes over the years, it is a charming practical sideboard.

Teak Coffee Table w Iron Studs & strapping

Some lucky person was keeping an eye on this coffee table as it sold off instagram the day after the shoot (sorry!) it must have been the fabulous antlers from 1803 Deer and the cowhide rug by Ombu Design, it was easy to create an interior mood with all of these elements.

Wrought Iron gates, a little rustic charm.

Often asked for in a myriad of sizes, the elusive console table such a useful piece of furniture. We love the worn top and warm colours of this one ~ a great size for the living or dining room we have a few other pieces that are similar still needing TLC so keep an eye on the website  🙂
