Hello friends, its been a little while since I shared what we have been up to in the workshop & Elements in general…

To be honest it has been a challenging start to the year. With the record breaking temperatures making our decrepit warehouse even hotter than normal – restoration work was almost at a standstill in January and now the February storms! If you follow me on instagram you will know what i am talking about, but perhaps the heat & rain have strangely, helped us make a few decisions for 2017… but more of that later.
Despite the challenges, we have some fabulous new pieces in store. Sarah & I pushed through a 35 degree day (we did the styling & the boys did the moving) and photographed a collection that we have all been working on ~ here are our favourite finds…
a custom made iron & marble console table, perfect for that narrow hallway or entry
this handsome old thing, a rustic teak and iron railway bench
some off set industrial lights – love this pair of cool grey ones
a low teak table to have on the deck or in the sun room for that afternoon G & T
& my favourite things which are always architectural or French, this pair of wrought iron grilles and pretty French cafe tables top the list…& there is much more online.
But now back to those decisions for 2017.
Recently we have made a few changes in our personal life & that has made us look at the business with fresh eyes. We can see that overtime you, our clientele have changed the way you engage with us online and in store.
Small business is a 24 hour thing, so having the choice of when to be open is one of the joys of owning your own business…
Increasingly it seems that the majority of our clientele are primarily browsing our stock online…. at the cafe on a phone or in bed with their iPad rather than shopping in store ! In response to this we have decided to dedicate more hours into having as much of our stock online & on social media. Of course our passion is still sourcing one of a kind pieces & we love the creative process – from beginning to end – restore, style & display and then finally it goes online 🙂

With this in mind & after trialling the Summer Trading Hours, closing on Saturdays – we have decided to make this a permanent change for 2017 .
Saturdays by Appointment Only
(After 15+ years of Saturday trading this has given the word ‘weekend’ a whole new complexion!)
If you are unable to come in during the week and you have fallen in love with something on line we can offer a Saturday appointment to view it in all its glory. Please just email or phone and we will try and make it work for you! There will be more news as the year unfolds but for now we have a pile up in the workshop …x Brooke
