Hello friends,
Here we are in February again, it’s hot and humid and I don’t like it, do you ?  I want to go back to the year when we did a buying trip to France in late February. The sky was was blue, the air was crisp, the sun was shining and oh, those bare plane trees in Provence… but enough of about the weather, we have some pretty new arrivals to share ! elements i love, blog, south of france, winterSo back to the warehouse. Last Friday the temperature hovered around 30 degrees – I don’t know why we chose to do our first photo shoot of 2018 on that particular day – but we did. Armed  with a branch of freshly pinched 🙂 frangipanis & some artfully dried hydrangeas we shot some lovely pieces…Hydrangeas, there is something in the way they dry...

Daisy our in house model, really found the conditions trying…lucky the doors were a stand-out – an unusual pair of Salon doors with studs applied to one side, and the classic panelled door on the reverse. Lots of possibilities.

Next up was the coveted French iron console, they  come in all shapes and sizes –  this serpentine shape is particularly pretty, we have sympathetically restored the repoussé iron work and added a 30mm Cararra marble top.

Photographing mirrors is always tricky but when they are distressed like this, there are no reflections to worry about.  With the mirror plate worn to a beautiful blur and the frame full of imperfections, perfectly imperfect…it fits the criteria for 3 words I love ‘beauty in decay’.  Did you know that you can follow a hashtag on instagram?  Today when I looked up #beautyindecay  there were 276,303 posts – that’s a lot of beauty & decay.

Lastly if you have been looking for something to light up your garden path…this rare find of delightful cast iron lanterns could be perfect for your home or next project. We have just four of them, and they are being sold in pairs.

Getting the lighting right inside and out makes all the difference ~  it reminds me of the magical experience we recently had whilst staying at the Parker in Palm Springs.  Take me back; wandering through those gardens after a spritz or two but that’s another story for Travel Notes 🙂

This seems like the perfect place to sign off…stay tuned as we have a fun give away in the pipeline to celebrate our upcoming MOVE !
