February. Things I didn’t know.

Things I didn’t know.

A carpet of native sea hibiscus greeted me at the beach after our Christmas sojourn down south. I didn’t know that nature and my environment would be so transforming…

I didn’t know my pace of life was going to change in such a good way, sure Byron looks busy but at its heart it’s a small country town  🙂 where simple gestures and eye contact matter.

I didn’t know that making friends & falling into creative collaborations could be so easy…& Villa Rustica is where I would find tennis buddies (& an exceptional pool!)elements i love, byron bay, journal, life notesI didn’t know that buying fresh produce (no plastic here) and eating well would be so easy, & the fish burgers from Old Maids were so good!

I didn’t know that I would be okay with the heat & humidity of February – on the hottest of days our warehouse space still has a breezy feel (even when I am akimbo on scaffolding & painting rafters)elements i love, byron bay, life notes
I didn’t know that my Hoya plant that had struggled for years in Balmain would find it’s happy place by the old water tank in the back yard, or that we had lotus flowers in our pond.

I didn’t know that this move was going to act like a filter and strain out all the white noise from my life. elements i love, byron bay, journal, still life

Things I did know…
I did know that I wanted to live a simpler life.

I did know that I would love having my bestie in the hood.

I did know that I would love having the challenge of lighthouse walk at my door step.

I did know that Elements I love… will be happy here too.

I didn’t know exactly what I wanted from change, but I am having fun working it out 🙂

Would love to know your thoughts on things you didn’t know…
